INSULATION INDUSTRY LEGISLATION Datlink Insulation and Acoustics is a registered member of TIPSASA (Thermal Insulation Products and Systems Association SA ) and subscribes to the standards as set out in SANS10400-XA, SANS 428 and SANS 204. These standards collectively address the stipulated thermal and fire requirements within the Building Regulations.
Further to the legislation, the impending electricity tariff increases of approximately 30% over the next three years will greatly affect the design of buildings and the use of insulation products. To give you an idea of the energy savings on an empty building please refer to the charts at the end of this document. Our products are manufactured using recycled polyester from waste PET bottles (Coke, Sprite, Water etc.), and conform to “cradle to cradle” principals as verified by Ecospecifier. Datlink Insulation & Acoustic product range includes ThermocousTex® Board: A thermally bonded polyester based insulating and acoustic board (50 to 80kg/m³ density) used within standard suspended ceiling solutions, over or between purlins or as cladding, which is available in white, marble or black colours.
ThermocousTex® Fibre: A thermally bonded polyester based insulating and acoustic blanket (24 to 50kg/m³ density), plain or foil faced, used over or between purlins within ceiling voids, as cladding or in cavity walls.
Romatherm®: A thermally bonded polyester insulating blanket, used as a bulk lay on insulation for ceilings. These are available in thicknesses of 40mm, 50mm, 55mm, 75mm, 100mm, 135mm and 145mm in various densities.
